Candle Care

Implementing these candle care tips can ensure a safe, enjoyable, and long-lasting experience with your cherished candles.

Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle for the first time and before each subsequent use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) in length. This helps prevent excessive smoking and ensures a clean, even burn.

Burn Time: Allow your candle to burn for at least 1 hour per inch (2.5 cm) of diameter during the first burn to ensure an even melt pool. This prevents tunneling and extends the life of your candle.

Avoid Drafts: Keep candles away from drafts, as they can cause uneven burning, smoking, or dripping. Place them on a stable surface away from open windows, fans, air vents, or high-traffic areas.

Even Burn: Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the container with each use to prevent tunneling. This creates an even burn and maximizes the fragrance throw.

Reposition Candles: If you notice your candle burning unevenly, gently reposition it to correct the melt pool and ensure an even burn.

Safety First: Always place candles on heat-resistant surfaces and away from flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep them out of reach of children and pets.

Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish your candle. Avoid using water or blowing forcefully, as this can cause hot wax to splatter.

Cool Down: Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting or moving it. This helps prevent cracking or damage to the container.

Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, melting, or softening.

Discontinue Use: Stop burning your candle when only 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains at the bottom to avoid overheating the container. Repurpose or recycle the container once the candle has been fully used.
